Scored sessions
Start a scored session, handle traffic, climb the leaderboard.
Getting started
Create an account
- Click Sign in in the top bar
- Register with your email or sign in with Google
- Verify your email (check your inbox)
- Choose your callsign — this is how you appear on the leaderboard
Start a scored session
- Click Start scored session in the score panel
- If you're not signed in, the login screen opens automatically — after signing in, the session starts right away
- Choose how to begin:
- Fresh start — restarts the simulation with new traffic
- Continue current session — keeps your current traffic but resets the score to zero
- The score counter starts and your session is being recorded
During your session
Control traffic as you normally would — either with code or manually. Your score updates in real time based on how you handle aircraft.
End your session
Click Stop to end the session. Your score is submitted to the leaderboard automatically.
Scoring
Earning points
- Handle aircraft — earn points for each aircraft you safely hand off or land
- Be efficient — bonus points for using fewer instructions
- Work fast — bonus points for quick, decisive controlling
Losing points
- Conflicts — each separation violation costs a significant number of points
- Go-arounds — missed approaches reduce your score
The key to a high score: handle lots of aircraft safely and efficiently.
Leaderboard
Open the leaderboard to see:
- Top 50 controllers for each airspace
- Callsigns, scores, and aircraft handled
- Session duration
- Your own ranking (highlighted in green)
Rank badges
Top performers get special recognition:
- 1st place — gold medal
- 2nd place — silver medal
- 3rd place — bronze medal
Tips
- One conflict can wipe out the points from several successful handoffs. Safety first.
- More traffic = more points. Don't shy away from busy sessions.
- Efficient routing means fewer instructions and higher bonuses.
- Practice the airspace in regular mode first. Learn the layout before competing.
- Code mode and interactive mode both work. Use whichever suits you.
Both views supported
Scored sessions work in both en-route (center) and tower views. Each has its own leaderboard.
